In-Frame St.Margarets Kitchen
For a young family returning from living abroad, we designed and built a kitchen that perfectly balances the timeless charm of their Edwardian semi-detached home in Teddington with a modern, high-spec finish. The brief was clear: a traditional English kitchen that feels classic, elegant, and effortlessly practical. Working closely with the clients, who have a keen eye for style, we brought their ideas and inspiration to life, creating a space that delights at every turn.
The kitchen sits within a generous open-plan area, featuring a central island, bar area, and beautifully detailed utility room. On a project of this scale, timing and coordination were key — from flooring and windows to cabinetry and installation. By manufacturing everything ourselves in our Twickenham workshop, we maintained full control over quality and timing. This hands-on approach ensured a flawless, consistent finish and allowed us to respond quickly to any on-site adjustments — a huge advantage in projects of this size.
Every material and product was chosen to strike the perfect balance between tradition and contemporary living. After guided visits to our showroom and to Culliford Stone Yard, the clients fell in love with the Arabescato Corchia marble worktops. The elegant veining pairs beautifully with the warmth of the aged oak herringbone flooring, while Armac Martin brassware and deVOL aged brass taps introduce subtle luxury and timeless character.
Functionality was central to the design. A large larder houses an integrated microwave, tall fridge, and freezer, creating a streamlined, clutter-free space that keeps everything easily accessible. The central island includes thoughtful features such as a charging drawer for phones, making everyday life effortless. The bar area, complete with an additional drinks fridge, comes to life in the evenings when soft lighting behind reeded glass creates a warm, inviting glow — perfect for entertaining.
Rather than one single “star” feature, several elements capture attention throughout the space. The Lacanche range cooker, double fluted Belfast sink, and veined marble surfaces immediately draw the eye, while the bar area and clever storage solutions add both practicality and elegance. The mushroom-toned paintwork ties everything together, completing a kitchen that is as functional as it is beautiful.
Our clients are thrilled with the result, describing it as both elegant and highly functional space that works seamlessly for family life, entertaining, and quiet mornings alike. Every detail reflects careful thought, expert craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality, showing how a traditional English kitchen can be beautifully reimagined for modern living.
This is more than just a kitchen — it’s a statement of style, functionality, and bespoke design. From crafting every element in our Twickenham workshop to integrating smart features and appliances with care, we created a space where every detail has been considered — a kitchen to linger in, entertain in, and truly enjoy every day.
